The Funniest Baseball Video Ever!

Kevin Millar, a slightly above average hitter, a slightly below average fielder, and owner of quite possibly the funniest baseball video, of all time.

Kevin Millar always had a great personality when he played baseball. He was never an all-star, but he was a key piece to the 2004 Red Sox team that broke the curse and come back down 3-0 to the Yankees in the ALCS. After his short, but decent career, his personality was enough to land him a spot on MLB Network as an analyst. In a segment in late April of 2016, Harold Reynolds, Dan Plesac, John Smoltz and Kevin Millar did player comparisons of who in the league right now reminds them of themselves as a player. John Smoltz was before Millar and he compared himself to Zach Wheeler, who was still a Met at the time. John Smoltz is about as interesting as a bag of plain potato chips so his segment was boring. But then came Kevin Millar, lets just watch this 2 minute clip together.

I don't think I have ever seen a video that can be watched over and over again and still be just as funny the first time around. Now for those that cannot understand why this is funny (women), let me break this down from a fundamental standpoint.

Off the bat, Millar is so excited to get his turn in this segment that he stutters not once, but twice in the first sentence. Guy just knows that this is about to be a masterpiece. Yoenis Cespedes hitting tanks is cool and will always play, but those clips of Kevin Millar hitting bombs, those are not his home runs, yeah he actually hit them, but when the camera pans away to see where they landed, those are not the same balls that he hit. The second home run that is shown, you can see in the score bug that its a Rockies vs. Marlins game and not Marlins vs. Phillies game. Andres Galarraga hit that ball, here is the original clip.

I mean, can you hit a baseball any further than that

Then the golf segment comes, and this guy Millar SUCKS at golf. I'm no pro myself, but cmon this guy isn’t even sniffing the hole.

If you know anything about the star that once was Yoenis Cespedes is that after he got traded like 4 times in one year and he finally got paid by the Mets, he bought some crazy ass cars. And a ranch in Florida that when he was recovering from double heel surgery in 2018, he broke his ankle getting off of a horse. And then he shit the bed during the covid season and did the most Mets thing ever, and simply did not show up for a game in the middle of the season and when he was contacted about his location, he then informed the team that he was not playing the rest of the year due to covid concerns. He never played again ending his career at the ripe age of 34. Really interesting career when you get into it.

Anyway, back to the video. The commentary when all of the cars are being shown is quite possibly the best part of the video. Millar giving out advice that would make blue collar dads put down their beer and start a lecture. The rest of the crew cannot keep it together. The fact that there are 2 videos of this clip on youtube and they only total 400,000 views is crazy. This is by far the funniest clip that baseball has ever created. I think the only one that may rival it is the mic'ed up version of when Terry Collins gets ejected when Noah Syndergaard was simply trying to establish his fastball to Chase Utley.

Fun fact: MLB tried to hide this video

Please share this with a baseball lover, or your cousin from Boston that just loves the Sox.
