Thank goodness these games do not count for anything in terms of wins and losses because the Phillies would be in second to last, right in front of the Miami Marlins. Speaking of the Marlins, can anyone name 3 Miami Marlins players because I can't. The Phillies lost by 8 or more runs twice since last week which is never a good sign. However, good things are coming together down in Clearwater.
One good thing is that Alec Bohm is looking pretty good this year. I know last week I said he was sucking and needed to cut his hair. Since then he has hit 3 home runs and is banging the ball all over the yard. Really liking the way Alec is looking this spring, he could still use a haircut. Taijuan Walker is not shitting the bed every start. I do not want to jinx him at all, but he is looking so good right now on the mound. He has got a little swagger to him and I must say I enjoy it. Hopefully when he starts a full game soon he does not shit the bed after the 4th inning like he did all of last year.
The projected starting 5 pitchers are still dominating like they should be. Except for Jesus Luzardo who gave up back to back to back home runs while Rob Thompson was being interviewed. The clip of this is hilarious as you can see the frustration on Rob Thompson's face as his new toy lets up three taters in a row.
A big topic of discussion in the world of Phillies baseball is who is going to bat leadoff, Kyle Schwarber or Trea Turner. Here are my thoughts on it based on their performances so far in the spring. They are both completely ass and neither of them deserve to bat in the top half of the lineup, let alone leadoff. Just look at their stats for the spring and you tell me if one of these guys has the stats of a leadoff hitter. You can guess who is who.
Bryce Harper is still really good at baseball, at least we have that going for us if everything else fails. The bullpen is really coming together too. My breakout candidate for the year is Orion Kerkering. I know he had a absolute stellar year last year, but this is the year he becomes an all-star and is more well known throughout the entire league for having the best slider in baseball.
Less than 3 weeks until actual Phillies baseball is played and boy oh boy am I excited to sit down on the couch with a couple of cold Yuenglings and yell at players that have no idea I exist. Share with a fellow Phillies fan and maybe even a Mets fan and let them know they even though they beat us last year, they still suck and are losers.
