Let me start this off with 2 statements so you as the reader can get a feel for where I am at with this blog
First off, I HATE the Mets. I went to game 1 of the 2024 NLDS Phillies vs. Mets, and that was the worst pain I had ever felt in my life.
Second off, I Love the show Seinfeld. It has got to be the funniest show ever.
Ok now that we are all on the same page, lets pose the question again, is Jerry Seinfeld really a Mets fan? I am not talking about the actor, but the character in Seinfeld, played by Jerry Seinfeld. No, not the Jerry Seinfeld in the show on Seinfeld, Jerry, but the character that Jerry Seinfeld plays on the show Seinfeld, made by Jerry Seinfeld, you with me so far?
On the show Seinfeld, Jerry, is stated to be a huge Mets fan, even in the first season going as far as taping a Mets game in order to go out that night and then come home and watch the game at 1 AM.
That is some dedication. Me personally, If the Phillies play and I am busy or something, I'll check the score like once or twice on the MLB app, but to go as far as recording it is insane. Now one may think that recording it was the only way to know what happened back in the day, my rebuttal to you is that Jerry lives in NYC and he doesn’t have a real job, so he can just turn on the news whenever tomorrow top catch the highlights, or check the news paper for the scores and stats and what not. Boom roasted, go back to your tik toks while they are still there you meat head.
So why do I think that Jerry Seinfeld isn’t a mets fan in the fictional world that is Seinfeld, created by Jerry Seinfeld with Jerry Seinfeld playing the lead? Well for one, he goes to more Yankees games than he does Mets games. All of the baseball scenes take place at Yankee Stadium, hell he even goes back there multiple times after one of his best friends gets kicked out of the stadium. Now there may be a reason for this, the Mets were absolutely horrendous during the 90's. Maybe he didn’t want to go because they were ass, and to that I call fake fan. Can't abandon the team just because they suck. Before the Phillies signed Bryce Harper I stuck it out Tommy Joseph and Cesar Hernandez on the Phillies. Bang, there is reason number 1.

Time for reason number 2. His life long best friend works for the other team in town, the Yankees. And I think George is outta pocket here because he is from Queens. But If I found out my life long best friend got a job for the Braves, I would be a little jealous not going to lie, but then mad because he has joined the enemy.
One other small reason, that Jerry really had no control over was when he did the PBS thing in that one episode where Kramer convinces Jerry to cash in Jerry's Grandmother's checks and the withdrawals cancel, Jerry is excited to have Danny Tartabull be with him. But not Kieth Hernandez.
My last and final reason is the whole 2 part episode with Kieth Hernandez. I mean this would be like if Bryce Harper did an episode on Always Sunny in Philadelphia where they all hate him. See that sounds ridiculous don't it. So Kieth Hernandez in his short stint on Seinfeld he has been done wrong by the characters in the following way. First off, Kramer and Newman accuse him of spitting on them and hate Kieth for that. Even when Jerry very comically explains how it would be impossible for a loogie to turn in the air, like a magic bullet. So then Elaine makes fun of him for winning 11 Gold Gloves in a row?!?! I mean come on that will never be done again. BTW that should be Hall of Fame worthy. Also Elaine does not like that he smokes cigarettes. THIS GUY DID COCAINE AND GREENIES. Cigarettes are like a mint to this guy. He was literally the cocaine guy in baseball and you’re not going to date him because of some little tobacco. And then Jerry, does not want to help this guy move. Kieth just got back to town and is looking for some friends. I don't blame him for not wanting some greasy moving guys touching his Gold Gloves and MVP Trophy and World Series ring. He is a little socially awkward because he is off of the nose candy, but is that enough to help a guy out, he just wants to be a normal person. And George, who is unemployed and needs to use Kieth's popularity to stay unemployed is treating him like a show puppy. Honestly though, of course George would do this.
From not going to their games, his best friend works for the enemy, and all of his other friends hatred towards Kieth Hernandez for various silly reasons, is why I think that Jerry Seinfeld from Seinfeld is not really a Mets fan. Also fuck the Mets.
