Bryce Harper is known for being a little, lets call it passionate, about baseball. His nickname, the Showman, is very fitting as he always puts on a show for the fans. He is one of the few players in baseball where you put down what you’re doing to watch his at bat because you never know what will happen next. All that aside, Bryce has been ejected a total of 10 time as a member of the Phillies, so lets rank them 1-10. BTW all these links will probably be different so if that upsets you, either 1, be my editor, or 2 deal with it.
Number 10
First off we have this one where Bryce probably wanted to get ejected from the game. The umpire let Bryce have his time of day for like a minute before he was ejected. Also this was during the covid season and lets just hope Bryce's hair does not get this long again.
Number 9
This one I don't mind Bryce Harper going crazy on the umpire, it's Gabe Kapler trying to be a tough guy that makes me cringe. Also, how nice is Bryce Harper's hair is this. Compared to the last one this is night and day difference in the hair game. This was also his first ejection as a Philly not even a month into the season with his new team.
Number 8
This one is just a little silly on Bryce's part, but I mean in the situation I get why he would be angry and why not get ejected just for the hell of it. It was the bottom of the 9th and the Phillies were down 6-0 to the Reds so yeah, why not mess around and get ejected. If you weren’t watching on TV there is no way you would've known that Harper got ejected. The guy commentating over this video must've never made it to school with his lunch money because he is defending the umpires pretty hard. This is the type of guy that roots for Zach Hample to catch home run balls.
Number 7
Harper is not even playing in the game here. Yes the call is absolutely terrible, yes it should have been overturned, but Bryce is just arguing for the hell of it. It is better than the other 3 as the call he is arguing is actually quite terrible and is worth ejecting for. The Jomboy breakdown is hilarious on this too.
Number 6
This one is just the classic, Bryce strikes out and just screams FUCKKKK. We all have been there buddy, that is a pain that only baseball players get. Except Bryce got ejected and I got pulled into the athletic directors office and was threatened with a 1 game suspension if I did it again.
Number 5
Bryce just wants to have a casual conversation with the umpire here about the strike zone. Now, it may have been after he threw his helmet, but a cool and casual conversation can go a long way in any relationship. This is not the last ejection against the Rockies that we will see on this list. Also, a first inning ejection on something this little is kinda crazy for an umpire.
Number 4
This is an ejection as old as time. Player strikes out, player goes to the dugout, player yells random shit at the umpire from the bench of the dugout. Haven’t we all done this? I think the fact that the pitch that Bryce yells "NOT EVEN FUCKING CLOSE!" is right down the shitter, is hilarious. Cringey Gabe Kapler also makes an appearance. Hard to look tough with sunglasses like that.
Number 3
In order to get ejected in this one, Bryce throws his bat, throws his helmet, and talks shit to the umpire. The look of surprise on Harpers face when he gets ejected is so god damn funny.
Like buddy what did you expect to happen here.
Number 2
This ejection has it all. To start it off, you got an Angel Hernandez special, Bryce is looking majestic in the baby blues (no homo), Bryce then marches down all the way to 3rd to give Angel a little piece of his mind, and to top it off, Bryce gives the fans a souvenir. What a generous man. Hard to think of any ejection that can top all of this, but I think we got one.
Number 1
This one right here I think sparked a little bit of a rivalry with the Rockies. Some schmuck Rockies pitcher (Jake Bird) started to shit talk the Phillies after he got a scoreless inning by throwing 8/20 pitches for strike, as a reminder that is the opposite of good. By the way he did not even get an inning ending strikeout, it was a pop fly, oh and he also walked the first 2 batters of the innings so it's not even like he shut the door, he closed the door ever so slightly as to not wake up his parents as he’s sneaking out of the house. Bryce charges at him, like the leader of the ball club that he is, and starts a little scuffle. Bryce would go on the call the Rockies a "loser fucking organization" which I mean he is correct as they have never won a World Series. Oh and if you could not tell by the video, it was mothers day too.
All in all, I love Bryce Harper, he is the man if he can bring us a championship. I would also love to see Bryce Harper lay a nice punch on someone one of these times. Hopefully a Met, Yankee, or Brave.
